Most of us must be knowing about the system folder “$recycle.bin”, few may not, and it may make you to worry when you see it on extended drives.

This folder cannot be removed permanently from the computer. Even when you delete it, you will see the folder reappearing immediately.

This is not the spyware or virus. This folder reappears on the computer by its design and cannot be deleted permanently.

To make this disappear, we have to enable “Hide protected operating system files” from the folder options.

To do this, open folder options and click on View tab. Look for “Hide protected operating system files” in Advanced settings. By simply adding a check (tick mark), we will be able to make the $recycle.bin folder disappear from the extended drives.

How to use Office Documents, saved or created in MS Office 2007 (latest edition)

July 30th, 2008 bala 1 comment

As we allo know Microsoft had released Office 2007 long back which is far advanced than its earlier edition. Most of us still use earlier edition of MS Office which is Office 2003 / XP / 2000.

The advanced edition should always be compatible. But, when you create any documents using Office 2007 we will be having trouble in opening it with Office 2003 or earlier edition since, Office 2007 save the documents in different format which is .docx, xlsx etc.

To avoid this confusion Microsoft had released the compatibility pack where people can download it and install it on their computer as a patch. If you have the patch installed then we will be able to open the office documents created or saved with MS Office 2007

Click here to download the compatibility pack for earlier version of MS Office
