Tabs missing in wireless client utility (Netgear, Linksys, Dlink, Belkin)

Most of us use wireless adapter of different brands (Netgear, Linksys, Dlink, Belkin, etc.,) in our computer for wireless internet connection and we will use the manufacturer’s utility (software,tool) to configure/connect to network, which will appear as an icon on the right bottom of the screen.

On some occasions, for our surprise we will not see all the tabs (options) in the ultility, which will not allow us to connect wirelessly.

The below steps will surely solve the problem and get back the manufacturer’s wireless utility in full function,
Start —>Run—->type “services.msc”—–>

Local services list will be listed from the list of select Wireless Zero Configuration.

Double click Wireless Zero Configuration

Check on service status if it is “started” click on “stop”

Click on apply and then ok (don’t directly click on OK)

Now, if you open the wireless utility, you can see all the tabs (options) in the utility and will be completely functional.

What’s the cause :-Windows OS by default comes with a wireless utility that is called Wireless Zero configuration. If all tabs in the manufacturer’s utility doesn’t appear, it means Wireless Zero configuration is functioning and that is the reason we are stopping it and getting the manufacturer’s utility up.

If you want Wireless Zero configuration (windows wireless utility) functional then,

Start —>Run—->type “services.msc”—–>

local services list will be listed from the list select Wireless Zero Configuration

double click Wireless Zero Configuration

check on service status if it is “stopped” click on “start”

click on apply and then ok

Now, you will see the windows wireless utility (two computer at the right bottom of screen mentioning wireless) fully functional.

Enjoy wireless
