Deleting temporary internet files in Mac OS internet explorer

September 22nd, 2008 dinesh.k 1 comment

what is Temoprary internet files or Cache files ? why we need to be deleted or cleaned

A small info which I know … …….

In our computer every time we visit or browse a web page,The particular entire page is actually copied to our computer and remains in hard driveeven When we leave the web page(These are called temporary internet files or cache files),for the reason to speed up our future visits to the same site, if the website has no change since your last visit, web-page is brought from the earlier remained files(temporary or cache files), which is makes the opening of the page faster rather than getting the entire site again through internet.I don’t say this should not happen but we should clean these files at least once in a month as these files which remain in hard-drive occupy our hard-drive space unnecessarily.

If you are in process of cleaning up your mac computer or are using a non personal mac OS computer and want to delete personal information which will be left behind. I am giving the step to clean the temporary internet files or cache files in mac OS internet explorer

  • From the tool bar of IE(internet explorer) mac OS
  • select preferences
  • click on web browser menu and click advanced
  • On the right you will Cache and hit epmty now option

Cleaning up of useless temporary files will help really big in system performance .Let us keep our computers cleaning and enjoy more surfing

Unable to open Windows Media Player. Error “The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6000.6336 where 11.0.6000.6324 was expected.”

Unable to open Windows Media Player. Error “The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6000.6336 where 11.0.6000.6324 was expected.”

While opening Windows Media Player you might get the following error message :

“The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6000.6336 where 11.0.6000.6324 was expected.
Windows media player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.
Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft website. Yes / No.”

If you try to download and install you will get the following error “A more recent version is already installed. Cancelling download”

This might happens because of the recent WMP updates if any or file corruption due to non microsoft software installation

To resolve this :

1. Click Start -> Type CMD on the “Start Search”
2. Right click on CMD and click Run as Administrator
3. Type unregmp2.exe /SwapTo:32 on the command prompt and hit enter key
4. Close the command prompt and reboot the computer

You should be able to open up Windows Media Player without any error. If the above steps didnt work then..

Click Start -> Run -> Regedit -> Ok
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Setup\\wmplayer.exe and delete wmplayer.exe

September 22nd, 2008 bala No comments

New users to Windows Vista might feel annoying when they get pop up from User Account Control, though it is built for security reasons.

It is not advisable to disable User Account Control. UAC (User Account Control) protects computer from malwares and threats. It also prevents the annonymous access to the computer with out the proper credentials.

If the users still wants to disable UAC then they can do it by following the steps
1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type “Msconfig” -> Ok
3. Click Tools tab and look for Disable UAC
4. Highlight Disable UAC and click Launch
5. Close the command prompt that appears when you click launch
6. Click Ok on System Configuration.

Reboot the computer to take effect.

September 19th, 2008 bala No comments

If you lost the sound on your computer suddenly and if you have problem in installing the driver for the sound card then possibly the problem could be with the Windows Audio End Point Builder Service.

This service might stopped or corrupted. You can try starting the service, if the problem persist then you have to look at the registry settings.

Click Start -> Run
Type regedit and click Ok

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Audiosrv\DependOnService and remove all the offending values except RPCSS

Close the registry editor and reboot the computer.

Now reinstalled the driver for the sound card and make sure the Windows Audio End Point Builder Service is started.

Good Luck!
