What is service pack ,why should we download and upgrade?
Microsoft provides upgrades and fixes for the released OS by service pack.”Upgrading the service pack for your computers” I will say is a must or mandatory for the computers better performance.

If you are thinking about how to and where to download the service pack for your VISTA computer,its always best to follow Microsoft’s advice for doing so which are

• First your computers installed with latest Microsoft updates
• check the version of Windows Vista operating system in the computer 32 bit or 64 bit
  The version information will be available in system from start menu
• log in as “administrator” to upgrade the service pack
