Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. - Error 80048820


Following error message appear when signing in to Windows Live or MSN Messenger

 

We can’t sign you in to Windows Live Messenger

Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

 

When you try to login with Windows Messenger you may get .net service is unavailable or even when login to Hotmail account

 

Cause for the problem

 

Incorrect Date and Time settings

 

Suggestions

 

1.       Double Click on the Time at the System tray (Lower right corner of the screen)

2.       Adjust the Date and Time (Make sure Year is correct)

3.       Click Okay

4.       Try signing in to Windows Live or MSN Messenger

    Not solved using your suggestion. My date and time is in correct position.

    I have this problem to and data and hour is correct.

    Also not solved using your suggestion, problem remains. Firewall is letting messenger through, uninstall/reinstall has not solved it, deleting user details associated with messenger has not worked. Please revisit this issue, as your solution is a pile of steaming crap.
