PERSONAL HOTSPOT
——————
The PHS is a small sized device that can connect to your 3G cell phone’s USB modem and become a WiFi access point(802.11b/g) to provide wireless internet.
Using this PHS acess point any wireless enabled laptops and computers can get online.PHS form a wireless network enabling us to connect more than one computer to access the internet wirelessly.

One of the PHS I came to know is from cradlepoint Technology model Phs300 below

From now if we have signal for our 3G cell phone ,we have wireless internet for our laptop to browse internet,to check gmail,to get maps,to log on to messengers and stay connected with our friends,to share the files on the go .Most important these devices provides security features too for secured access.Happy surfing

In your office or home network if the situation is like that you have to work in two or more computers alternatively. The best cost effective is getting a KVM switch which can connect all the computers to one keyboard, monitor, mouse.where you can switch between the computers using the keys combination in the keyboard.(scroll lock and the number key)

Now let me explain clearly about KVM switch. The name KVM is acronym of Keyboard Video Mouse which is a hardware that can connect many computers to one keyboard, monitor and mouse.

Working with many computers alternatively or you if you have to keep switching between the systems for your workkVM switches are useful to connect those systems and work from single Keyboard Monitor and Mouse .Many manufacturers provide KVM switches in the market including the leading companies.I have posted the picture of a setup with KVM switch below for better understanding.

Hey…

Here’s something that we can have a talk about… Windows Vista’s new offerring to the public… its latest Service Pack 2 (Pre Beta - 6002.16489)… I got this oppurtunity to install this Service pack on my test machine… and guess what??? It Works!!!!

Yes.. Windows Vista Service Pack 2 has changed my system performance.. wow the boot time is faster and the apps load faster and it is working good… and this is what Mike Nash has to say about the improvements in Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

We are committed to continually improving Windows, and we’ve been getting some questions about the timing of the next service pack for Windows Vista. Following the success of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 last spring, we have been working hard on Windows Vista Service Pack 2. As a part of the development and testing process, we’re going to start by providing a small group of Technology Adoption Program customers with Windows Vista SP2 Beta for evaluation next Wednesday, October 29. The final release date for Windows Vista SP2 will be based on quality. So we’ll track customer and partner feedback from the beta program before setting a final date for the release.

Windows Vista SP2 Beta contains previously released fixes focused on addressing specific reliability, performance, and compatibility issues. We expect Windows Vista SP2 will retain compatibility with applications that run on Windows Vista and Windows Vista SP1 and are written using public APIs.

Because we’ve adopted a single serviceability model, these improvements are integrated into a single service pack covering both Windows Vista (client) and Windows Server 2008 (server) versions. This should also minimize deployment and testing complexity for our customers.

In addition to previously released updates since the launch of Windows Vista SP1, Windows Vista SP2 contains changes focused on supporting new types of hardware and adding support for several emerging standards:

Windows Vista SP2 adds Windows Search 4.0 for faster and improved relevancy in searches.

Windows Vista SP2 contains the Bluetooth 2.1 Feature Pack supporting the most recent specification for Bluetooth Technology.

Ability to record data on to Blu-Ray media natively in Windows Vista.

Adds Windows Connect Now (WCN) to simplify Wi-Fi Configuration.

Windows Vista SP2 enables the exFAT file system to support UTC timestamps, which allows correct file synchronization across time zones.

One question I know that you will ask is “should I wait for SP2?” The reality is that Windows Vista SP1 is a great platform that is both available on new Windows PCs and available as a free download for systems that are running the “gold” release of Windows Vista. While we will recommend SP2 when it ships, your best bet today is Windows Vista SP1.

I look forward to sharing more about Windows Vista SP2 in the future - stay tuned!

So here are the screenshots of the install for you people.

Regsvr32.exe /u “C:\Program Files\Norton 360\tpShell.dll”

After performing the above steps please check whether the issue is resolved. If the issue still persist then

1. Click Start and click Run.
2. Type the following command and click Ok
Regsvr32.exe /u “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec
Shared\Backup\buShell.dll”

Now your issue will be completely resolved.

After this make sure you have re-enable Symprotect Tamper Protection without fail.

Cause for this problem is due to the OUTLOOK.EXE process running at the background even after we close the MS Outlook.

As a work around you can also try relaunching MS Outlook after ending the OUTLOOK.EXE process from the task manager. (To open task manager press Ctrl+Alt+Del at the same time)

what is Temoprary internet files or Cache files ? why we need to be deleted or cleaned

A small info which I know … …….

In our computer every time we visit or browse a web page,The particular entire page is actually copied to our computer and remains in hard driveeven When we leave the web page(These are called temporary internet files or cache files),for the reason to speed up our future visits to the same site, if the website has no change since your last visit, web-page is brought from the earlier remained files(temporary or cache files), which is makes the opening of the page faster rather than getting the entire site again through internet.I don’t say this should not happen but we should clean these files at least once in a month as these files which remain in hard-drive occupy our hard-drive space unnecessarily.

If you are in process of cleaning up your mac computer or are using a non personal mac OS computer and want to delete personal information which will be left behind. I am giving the step to clean the temporary internet files or cache files in mac OS internet explorer

From the tool bar of IE(internet explorer) mac OS

select preferences

click on web browser menu and click advanced

On the right you will Cache and hit epmty now option

Cleaning up of useless temporary files will help really big in system performance .Let us keep our computers cleaning and enjoy more surfing

Valuable comments on this post are welcome

Unable to open Windows Media Player. Error “The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6000.6336 where 11.0.6000.6324 was expected.”

While opening Windows Media Player you might get the following error message :

“The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6000.6336 where 11.0.6000.6324 was expected.
Windows media player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.
Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft website. Yes / No.”

If you try to download and install you will get the following error “A more recent version is already installed. Cancelling download”

This might happens because of the recent WMP updates if any or file corruption due to non microsoft software installation

To resolve this :

1. Click Start -> Type CMD on the “Start Search”
2. Right click on CMD and click Run as Administrator
3. Type unregmp2.exe /SwapTo:32 on the command prompt and hit enter key
4. Close the command prompt and reboot the computer

You should be able to open up Windows Media Player without any error. If the above steps didnt work then..

Click Start -> Run -> Regedit -> Ok
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Setup\\wmplayer.exe and delete wmplayer.exe
