Hi all

You are switching between home, school, office wireless networks often in your VISTA laptop and want to connect automatically to these networks which you know are secure .I have given the steps below which will store the wireless networks you want and connect to them when ever in range to those networks.Just do the below step once and this simple step saves our precious time in future.

1)When you are connected to the known (secured) wireless network

from the start menu select control panel

2)when the control panel is opened in classic view

search for Network and Sharing select it

When control panel is opened in Cotegory view

search for Network and Internet select it and open Network and Sharing

3)When the Network and Sharing is opened

On the left side under tasks select Manage wireless networks

4)From the list of displayed wireless networks right click the Network which you want connect automatically (when you are in the place)

from the menu select properties and in the network properties box which pops up

check the box connect automatically to this network when this network in range under conenctions tab and click ok

We have a short cut for this step i.e avoiding navigating the control panel options ..When you are in the range of the wireless network

1)From the start menu

2)select connect to

3)where it displays the list of wireless network

4)Now right click the wireless network which you want to connect automatically

5)From the menu select properties and in the network properties box which pops up

6)check the box connect automatically to this network when this network in range under the connections tab click ok

Now the network is stored and whenever you are in the range of this network the computer automatically connects and you will saving your precious time in future
