Unable To Delete Mail In Windows Mail - Windows Vista

If you have problem in deleting mails in Windows Mail you can follow the below steps to resolve the same,

Steps to be followed:

1. Backup the E-mail you wish to keep. Just to be sure to avoid any loss of Email while rebuilding the mailstore.
2. Close Windows Mail.
3. Click the Start button and select Computer.
4. Navigate to C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail.
5. Delete WindowsMail.MSMessageStore.
6. Open the Backup directory.
7. Open the new directory.
8. Delete WindowsMail.MSMessageStore.
9. Open Windows Mail to rebuild the mailstore database.

By following the above steps, you can now delete the unwanted mails in Windows Vista.

Cannot install Windows Vista - “Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0X80070020″

While upgrading to Windows Vista, you may get the following error message.

“Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation” Error code 0X80070020
or
“Windows could not update the computer’s boot configuration”

Steps to Resolve :

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit , and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3. In the results pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Modify.
4. In the Value data box, type PartMgr, and then click OK.
5. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
6. Insert the Windows Vista DVD, and then upgrade the computer to Windows Vista.

Note: Take necessary backup of the registry before editing.
