What is this update (KB967715) is for?

As we know USB flash drives can spreads Virus if it has got infected , it spreads by executing the autorun.inf file that virus creates on the flash drive, the autorun.inf is driver files that has inbuilt commands to execute a xyz.exe virus on the same drive flash ( since somebody has to execute it ) which replicates on to the root folder of the drive; for all the drives available on the computer , and slow down the pc as it might be sending your personal info to the company who created the virus , this updates disables the feature of autorun feature in windows and changes user experience for the drives for which Autorun is disabled. The double-click and right-click shortcut menu functionality might be different because the Autorun.inf file is no longer read.

So the update KB967715 is an important update and it is necessary to be installed on the computer to prevent Virus when using Flash drive or Thumb drive

Unable to open Windows Media Player. Error “The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6000.6336 where 11.0.6000.6324 was expected.”

Unable to open Windows Media Player. Error “The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6000.6336 where 11.0.6000.6324 was expected.”

While opening Windows Media Player you might get the following error message :

“The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6000.6336 where 11.0.6000.6324 was expected.
Windows media player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.
Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft website. Yes / No.”

If you try to download and install you will get the following error “A more recent version is already installed. Cancelling download”

This might happens because of the recent WMP updates if any or file corruption due to non microsoft software installation

To resolve this :

1. Click Start -> Type CMD on the “Start Search”
2. Right click on CMD and click Run as Administrator
3. Type unregmp2.exe /SwapTo:32 on the command prompt and hit enter key
4. Close the command prompt and reboot the computer

You should be able to open up Windows Media Player without any error. If the above steps didnt work then..

Click Start -> Run -> Regedit -> Ok
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Setup\\wmplayer.exe and delete wmplayer.exe

Your comments on this post is much appreciated.
